Eagle pendant - Chased

This was my second go at chasing. This time it went a little faster than my first attempt. Overall I am very happy with both chased pieces I have done. Its sure a lot of fun challenging something new.

Eagle & Spirit Human Belt Buckle

This was the first Belt Buckle I made. I actually made it out of a rolled out 1976 Montreal Olympic coin. (Don't tell the queen!!) It was a lot of fun working on this. It was bought and displayed at Lattimer Gallery.

Chased Killerwhale Pendant in Sterling silver.

This was my first chased piece. I started this project thinking it might go along easily. Soon was I to find out that chasing is a lot more work than first appears. Over the summer of 2008 I worked many hours on this piece under the guidance of my friend, fellow artist and teacher Haida artist, Jay Simeon. I first engraved this piece, then fashoned and soldered on square wire along the rim of the piece to add depth. Then I fashoned the bale and posts and soldered them on the top. Lots of work but I am really proud of this piece! Thanks Jay!
